Easy Green Juicing for Health

Easy Green Juicing for Optimal HealthEveryone’s walking around drinking what appears from afar to be green sludge. A closer look reveals a tonic that, while hard to take for some, is a mineral and vitamin infusion in a bottle. If made and used properly, green juice can potentially boost your heath in numerous ways. The next time you crave that five dollar afternoon latte pick-me-up, consider green juice as an option instead.
Some green juices are loaded with carbs and sugar from fruit, with perhaps a pinch of spinach. However, hardcore, true green juice is by far the best way to go. Green juice made with cucumbers, celery, spinach, kale, lemon, ginger, parsley may sound unpleasant at first, but can actually be delicious.
I began making green smoothies about six years ago
as a way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my diet. Soon after, I tried my hand at making green juice with a juicer. I’m now an advocate of using both as a part of a well-balanced, whole-foods diet, but in the end I prefer green juice made in a blender. It’s easy to make, quicker, and provides a powerful blast of nutrition.

Blender or juicer?

Using a juicer removes the fiber found in fruits and vegetables, making it easy to digest for anyone recovering from an illness or suffering from digestive problems. The resulting drink allows the body to easily and quickly absorb vitamins and minerals without having to exert the energy needed to dig            Green juicing with a blender, however, gives you the best of both worlds, giving you a dose minerals, vitamins and fiber in one shot. Juicers can be time consuming, as most require quite a bit of cleanup work (due to all of the pulp left over from the extraction process). Blenders, on the other hand, get the job done and ensure the fiber your body needs is kept in the drink. As long as your blender’s blades are sharp and the blender itself is powerful, green juice is attainable. Making green juice in a blender is also less expensive than juicing with a juicer, as it requires fewer vegetables to yield more tasty beverages.

According to canger.gov, high concentrations of free radicals can be dangerous to your health, as they damage cells, DNA, cell membranes and proteins in your body. This damage affects the development of cancer and other health issues. Green juices can provide dietary antioxidants such as vitamins A, C and E, lycopene, beta-carotene and selenium.

Green juice contains chlorophyll

Green juice gets its color from chlorophyll, which aids the body in getting rid of toxins. Chlorophyll stops the absorption of environmental pollutants and helps the body to excrete them too. It’s a prime nutrient that helps balance out your body’s pH by lowering acidity, and it enhances oxygen transport. Chlorophyll prevents anemia and strengthens blood-making organs, and it helps with insomnia, sinus issues, kidney stones, wound healing and hormonal imbalances. It has anti-inflammatory properties, helps strengthen your immune system, and promotes digestive health as well. Why wouldn’t you want to increase your chlorophyll intake?

Clean up your act!

Green smoothies and juice help to clean up your digestive tract. The nutrients, fiber and chlorophyll in greens literally sweep out the junk from your body, like a cleaning crew. Green drinks also have medicinal purposes because they contain things like ginger, parsley and citrus. Citrus juice helps fight infections, parsley cleanses the blood, and ginger cleans out the gut and heals it. Basically, green drinks come into the body, tidy up, and take out the trash for you, so throw a handful of spinach, some ginger, and a pinch of salt in your blender. Add enough water or a bit of apple juice to liquefy, and you’ve created an intense shot of nutrition without breaking the bank at a juice bar.
There’s no need to starve yourself and wait to drink green juice for a cleanse; simply add it to your diet and see how quickly you begin to look and feel much better.
